The Black Hole Panel
An accretion disk, not a screensaver: every mote rides a Keplerian orbit (inner matter laps the outer), bleeds inward, and plunges once it crosses the innermost stable orbit. The side spinning toward you is doppler-boosted — brighter and hotter — and the far side of the disk is lensed into the halo above the shadow, with a faint mirror image beneath. Stars behind the hole shear around the photon ring.
- This toy began life as the Black Hole effect in WLED
- It was taken to the next level as the only effect with sliders named after effects of general relativity
- Doppler and Lensing are there casually included with the other effects
- It's also the only toy with a preset that names its famous ancestor out loud
- Its local ancestry can be seen below
